Welcome to the PolyU Wu Group

We harness the complementary strengths of the human brain—analog and carbon-based—and machine intelligence—digital and silicon-based—to design and synthesize advanced artificial materials.

By exploring the vast landscape of frontier materials, we develop transformative device technologies powered by Artificial Intelligence, high‑throughput synthesis, first‑principles calculations, and state-of-the-art fabrication approaches.

Our research focuses on halide perovskites, metal-organic hybrids, and mixed‑dimensional heterostructures, enabling breakthrough applications across optoelectronics, energy, and environmental technologies.

🎉 Congratulations to Yongxin and all co-authors on the acceptance of our work titled “Fingerprinting Organic Molecules for the Inverse Design of Two-Dimensional Hybrid Perovskites with Target Energetics” in Science Advances. This theoretical work presents an effective approach to labelling organic molecules with simple 12-digit fingerprints and offers the community over one thousand new 2D hybrid materials to explore! The preprint is also available at arXiv:2509.25728.
